FALL IN LOVE STAGE

I actually decided to write blog posts because I was frustrated that my earphones were broken and I was still waiting for new ones. What a waste of my charging time. I need my earphones 😭

Okay. Let’s start from when I first got into fiction. It’s a long story, and it’s not too late to stop reading now. Haha.

When I was in elementary school and could already read, I always borrowed books from the school library, because I thought I would be missing out if I didn’t read them all, considering I could read them all for free. Most of the books I read at that time were folk tales or fables.

Later, my older sister started buying Enid Blyton novels, also borrowing some from her friends. At that time, I remember reading Enid Bylton’s series, like The Famous Five and The Naughtiest Girl. I found these novels fascinating, even though the stories were quite simple. As far as I remember, I also read Goosebumps series.

When I was in junior high school, I started renting shoujo manga with my friend. We’d split the rent, each paying half. So, if we had three days, I’d read it all night, then give it to my friend the next day. This continued until we’d finished reading every shoujo manga book in the comic rental. I also read mystery manga, but I didn’t read shonen manga because there were so many series.

At that time, my older sister was already in high school, and we went to different schools. I was so excited every time my sister brought home a novel. I started reading Indonesian novels by Marga T and Mira W. These two authors are very popular in Indonesia and their works are often adapted into TV series. Most of the stories are about romance, doctors, and adults, but not vulgar, so they are safe for teenagers to read.
